Denicotea Club Sandblast Straight Hexagon Rhodesian Estate Pipe, 9mm Filter

DENICOTEA arched over CLUB on a smooth panel of the shank: this is a sandblast straight Rhodesian with a hexagon bowl, a vulcanite diamond stem and a fishtail mouthpiece, made for a 9 mm filter.

It is pre-smoked, in good vintage condition.

Denicotea began in Cologne in 1932, when Willy Heineberg founded a firm for filters, filter inserts, cigarette holders and pipes. The name belongs first of all to its silica-gel filter, and it also appears on holders and pipe care products. Advertisements in an Estonian newspaper in 1938 show that the firm was already selling abroad before the war, and after the war its head office moved to Bergisch Gladbach. Besides pipes under its own name, Denicotea has sold pipes under other labels, among them Adsorba, Aldo Morelli and Wessex.

The bowl of this straight Rhodesian is a hexagon, 28 mm high and 35 mm wide, around a chamber 16 mm across and 21 mm deep. The pipe is 150 mm long and weighs 29 g. The shank and the vulcanite diamond stem show flat sides, and the stem ends in a fishtail mouthpiece.

The sandblast covers the bowl and the shank, with a smooth panel on the shank that carries the stamp.
