Lindstrom in script, with an underline that loops back under the name: that is the stamp on the shank of this smooth bent billiard, fitted with a vulcanite tapered stem and a fishtail mouthpiece, and made for a 9 mm filter.
It is pre-smoked, in good condition, with a bite mark on the stem and faint scratches in the stain around the briar.
THE MARKS
- Lindstrom in script, with dots over the o and a looped underline, stamped on the shank
No date is given for this pipe.
The billiard is the classic pipe shape: a bowl shaped like a cylinder, set on a shank. This one is bent. The bowl is 45 mm high and 38 mm wide around a chamber 20 mm across and 36 mm deep; the pipe is 140 mm long and weighs 41 g. A metal band sits at the end of the shank, where the vulcanite stem joins it. The stem is tapered, narrowing from the band to the fishtail mouthpiece.
The finish is smooth, and lines of grain show on the bowl. Please see the photographs for the stem and the briar.
