About this Piece
SENATOR over real briar, stamped on the shank: this is a sandblast straight billiard on a vulcanite saddle stem with a fishtail mouthpiece, made to smoke without a filter.
SENATOR is stamped in capitals and real briar in small letters under it, and both lines can be read.
THE MARKS
- SENATOR in capitals, stamped on the shank

No date is given for this pipe.
The billiard is the classic pipe shape: a bowl shaped like a cylinder, set on a shank that runs straight out to the stem. Here the bowl is 47 mm high and 35 mm wide around a chamber 20 mm across and 38 mm deep. The pipe is 148 mm long and weighs 37 g. The vulcanite saddle stem ends in a fishtail mouthpiece, and there is no filter.
The finish is a sandblast over the bowl and the shank.
