Natural Wood Churchwarden Pipe, All Wood Bowl and Stem, Unsmoked

Bowl, shank and stem are all wood: this is an unsmoked natural wood churchwarden, 200 mm long, with a long curved wooden stem.

The shank is turned with rings and beads, a thin ring sits where the stem joins it, and the stem comes out of the shank. Two grooved lines run around the bowl near the rim. The chamber is a little shallow: 28 mm deep and 18 mm across.

No maker is stamped on this pipe, and no date is given for it.

A churchwarden is a pipe with a long stem, which puts distance between the bowl and the smoker's face. On this one the stem is wood like the rest of the pipe, not vulcanite or acrylic. The round bowl is 60 mm high and 59 mm wide, and the whole pipe weighs 65 g.

The finish is natural wood, and the grain of the wood shows on the bowl.

Condition: unsmoked.
