About this Piece
A top rail with six holes over a base with six hollows, joined by two turned columns: this is a classic wooden holder for six smoking pipes.
Each pipe stands upright, its bowl resting in a hollow of the base and its stem passing through a hole in the rail. The edges of the rail and the base are moulded, and the underside of the base is covered with a felt-like material.
A stand of this kind keeps pipes upright, apart and in view on a desk or a shelf, and lets each one rest between smokes. The pipes shown in the photographs are not included.
